The Process of Forgiveness

July 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

In the past few months SeeNoEvil has talked to a few wives who have found pornography on their husband’s computer.  We are here to provide these couples with the technology to combat pornography temptation in the marriage.   We also understand that sometimes such an encounter in a marriage can be very difficult and require a tremendous amount of healing and forgiveness.  Below you will find some scripture and insight on forgiveness that we hope you find helpful.  For more information, we recommend you check out Behind Closed Doors – Christians, Pornography, and the Temptations of Cyberspace by Dr. Robert J. Baird, and Ronald L. Vanderbeck.

Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for a feast of the Jews. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesdaand which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.  One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”  “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.   John 5:1-9

Dr. Baird and Dr. Vanderbeck note that “couples want to repair the relationship. They want to reestablish trust and commitment.  They want to experience forgiveness and reconciliation.  But feeling immobilized by the pain of their experience, they just do not know what to do.”

The first step may be allowing yourself to feel the pain, and asking Jesus to “help you into the well wherethe healing water is stirred.”  Once you recognize the hurt and make an effort to move forward, Christ will help you onto the path of forgiving, healing, and moving on.

We wish you the best.  Remember, we at SeeNoEvil will be praying for you.

A Pray for Men and Women who struggle with pornography…

Lord you know what I have done and what shame I feel.  I ask for your forgiveness and for your healing in my life.  I ask that you give me strength to avoid Pornography.  I ask for your stength to overcome the images that are left in my mind.  I ask for your help and healing in the relationships that have been affected by my looking at pornography.  Help me to be honest with myself and those whom I love.  Lord guide me and direct me.  Give me the courage to be the man (woman) that you have created me to be.

New Technology Empowers Parents, Protects Children

New Technology Empowers Parents, Protects Children

Jesus said in Matthew 6:22-23, “The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.”

The Internet, rightly argued to be one of the best inventions of our time, has opened up numerous opportunities for Christians.  Pastors can exchange sermon ideas, Christian mothers can exchange parenting stories, and the whole family can download the latest song from their favorite Christian artist.  However, with great opportunity comes great responsibility and most Christians would tell you the Internet is also a minefield of danger and temptation especially for the most innocent and coveted members of the flock- children.

Today there are an estimated 420 million websites that are pornographic in nature.  The average age of boys when they are first exposed to Internet pornography is eight and a half.  For girls, it is age eleven.  Nine in ten children between the ages of eight and sixteen have been exposed to pornography and most while doing homework.

Christian Entrepreneur Richard Maring is all too familiar with the dangers of the Internet.  Maring’s eight year old niece was researching algae for a school project when she was exposed to hard core pornography.   Maring was outraged to find out that his niece had been exposed to such content.  With 32 years as an I.T. business owner with multiple patents in the imaging field and being the founder of two Internet Service Providers, Maring was challenged by a friend to take his expertise and prevent children from being further exploited while innocently exploring the World Wide Web.   Three years later, Maring released new patent pending image blocking software called SeeNoEvil.

Designed to prevent unknown potentially harmful images from coming through, SeeNoEvil blocks images from unknown websites.  “This is our first shot across the bow of the porn industry to say you’re not going unchecked anymore,” said Maring.  “We want to give parents the tools to take back control of the Internet.”

Christian parents are faced with the heavy task of protecting their children in today’s technological society.

While wanting to provide their children with the educational experiences and opportunities present through exploration of the Internet, parents must also consider the realities of the dangers on the World Wide Web.

One in five children who use computer chat rooms has been approached over the Internet by pedophiles.  Seventy percent of sexual advances over the Internet were made while a youngster was on a home computer.  One in seventeen children between the ages of ten to seventeen was threatened or harassed over the Internet.

Maring was determined to not only prevent harmful images from coming through, but also desired to give parents the tools necessary to monitor and protect their children while they are online.  SeeNoEvil comes complete with parental controls, including the ability to take screen shots, set time limits and restrictions, and block specified programs.

“While leading and guiding our children, most Christian parents seek to nourish their mind, body, and soul of their child.  SeeNoEvil seeks to partner with parents by giving them the tools to protect each child’s heart and soul from intrusive material on the World Wide Web,” said Maring.

James 1:14-5 says, “But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.”

Local Entrepreneur Combats Porn – Appears on National Broadcast

Grand Rapids, MI.  Local entrepreneur Richard Maring will appear on the Total Christian Television (TCT) Network tonight.  Maring, an ordained minister and imaging technologist specialist, was interviewed by TCT to educate and bring awareness to the issue of online pornography and its effects on children, families, and the Church.

Maring held two patents in imaging technology and was the owner of an Internet Service Provider when his niece was exposed to hard-core pornography through the ISP he owned.  Maring was out raged at the incident.  A friend challenged him to use his expertise to do something about the issue of unsolicited exposure to Internet Pornography. Four years later, Maring’s company Tribinium Corporation, released SeeNoEvil, patent pending image blocking technology to combat Internet pornography.

Today Maring’s technology has helped thousands of families to safeguard their homes against online pornography.  His software, found at www.seenoevil.com, is endorsed by Promise Keepers and has appeared in the San Diego Reader, ETC Magazine, and the Christian Journal.

Maring has become somewhat of an expert on the addictive nature of pornography and its long term effects on children who have been exposed.  Maring has spoken at numerous churches and conferences throughout the nation, as well as been interviewed by Ministry Today Magazine and The National Catholic Register.  Maring resides in Hudsonville, Michigan with his wife and is the father of seven children and seven grandchildren.
