SeeNoEvil as Accountability Software

June 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Looking to use SeeNoEvil as accountability software?

SeeNoEvil continues to receive many inquires about using SeeNoEvil as accountability software.

While SeeNoEvil does not officially offer an accountability option yet, (Our  software engineers are currently working on it), we know many of our customers are using the current software to hold someone accountable.  Here is how they have done it.

1.    Set the accountability partner as the parental user. If this is not the case and you need to change the password of the parental user, open the SeeNoEvil control panel, double click on the parental username, and click on Change Password.

2.    Next make sure the person struggling with the addiction is set up as a child user at a medium or high security setting.

o    At a high security setting the User will only have access to websites on the “allow” list as determined by the parental user. Consider choosing the “safe” websites the user visits frequently.

o    At the medium security level the User will have access to all websites, but all images will be blocked. (SeeNoEvil automatically blocks all known pornography websites. However, if there is a new pornography site that is not yet located, SeeNoEvil will block all those images and any images that may be promoting or advertising adult content). You might want to put in here how the person would get access to the sites, e.g. have to get the accountability partner to approve the site/unblock the images.

3.    You can also choose to have screen shots and keyword logging set up so the accountability partner can view what the user has done during their sessions.
